County homeowners can earn rebates for energy upgrades
Los Angeles County homeowners can earn rebates of up to $4,500 by making energy-efficient upgrades under a program announced Tuesday by an alliance of local utility companies.
Energy Upgrade California expects to retrofit up to 18,000 homes to reduce energy use by an average of 20 percent, cut down on greenhouse gas emissions and create about 2,000 “green” jobs countywide. The public-private partnership will also offer free upgrades to winners of a home makeover contest.
