Delaware T-5 Fluorescent Lighting Available For Non-Residential Rebates

Delaware offers T5 fluorescent lighting rebates for companies who switch to energy efficient technology in their business facilities.  The Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility (SEU) offers financial incentives to commercial, industrial and other sectors that use energy efficient lighting. T5 lighting fixtures are highly efficient lighting measures that conserve more lighting energy and thus help companies cut back on their energy costs. State rebate programs are being offered all over the country to support our national green energy initiative and help businesses save money.

Commercial, industrial, schools and other non-residential customers consume a fifth of Delaware’s energy costs in their facilities. State rebates encourage businesses to upgrade to energy efficient lighting to help bring down energy costs for energy conservation. Reduced energy consumption in non-residential businesses helps them to cut back on their operating costs in the business facilities.

T5 fluorescent lighting equipment has good illumination quality and consumes about 25% to 30% less energy than older lighting measures. These newer, high bay lighting technologies help companies to get more with less in their business facilities. Lighting rebates give non-commercial customers cash incentives for taking advantage of ways to save on lighting and other technology costs.

The Delaware SEU Rebate Program offers $6 to $28 per lighting fixture, with a maximum incentive of $10,000 per program participant. Applications for projects that will result in more than $3,000 in incentives require pre-approval prior to equipment purchase and installation. Rebates are only available for equipment that was bought on or after December 1, 2009. The state rebate program application in valid until August 31, 2010 and may possibly extend beyond that under a revised incentive offering.

T5 fluorescent lighting and other technologies are eligible for Delaware state energy efficiency rebates that are funded in part by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds. Interested customers may be subject to certain terms and conditions associated with using ARRA funding, such as the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements.  Detailed information and program requirements are located on the Delaware state nonprofit’s website at: www.energizedelaware.com.
