Florida Public Utility Company Offers Businesses Energy Incentives to Go Green

Today, there is a refreshing new commitment to energy conservation that has swept across this country. Green energy tips, resources and technologies have made its way to all facets of society. This concerted effort to go green is even effecting how businesses use their resources in the most energy-efficient manner. Energy conservation standards have expanded widely to include President Obama’s unwavering commitment to strengthening our economy through energy efficiency.

According to the Department of Energy, today’s businesses consume more energy than any other sector of the U.S, economy, including industry and transportation. There is a huge national push to lower these numbers by giving businesses an attractive incentive for switching to energy efficiencies. Energy-saving equipment, such as lighting, air conditioning and motors helps companies to save money, conserve energy and improve the environment

Florida Public Electric Utility’s Energy for Life Conservation Program gives financial incentives for non-residential customers to save energy and money. All customers can get a free energy survey by an energy specialist that can help them settle on the best equipment to choose from. Florida Public Utilities also offers commercial customers an indoor lighting program that involves giving customers $100 per kilowatt reduced with an energy-efficient lighting upgrade. More detailed information about the rebate program is available on the website at: www.fpuc.com.

In addition, the Energy For Life Commercial Building Program also encourages new construction projects to support the effort to go green by offering free energy calculations, design assistance, lighting, and green building certification. When commercial lighting energy costs go down, their savings go up. Just like the old expression goes, “a penny saved is a penny earned.” Florida businesses can upgrade their lighting technologies to save money, reduced energy costs and support to the national effort to go green.
