Georgia Residents Can Reap The Benefits Of A State Energy Rebate Program

The U.S. Department of Energy has made alternative energy resources accessible to thousands of Americans across the country. The $346 million provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act fuel the green effort with funds to help both residential and commercial customers to use green technology. Going green is not only a popular energy option, but an economical alternative power source as well. A residential energy rebate program helps homeowners to benefit from installing energy efficient equipment in their homes.

Alternative energy sources, such as central air conditioners, water heaters and heat pumps, generate less power while not compromising on performance. The proven energy reduction of residential technologies makes these power reduction appliances an attractive choice for residents. State incentive offers give cash back for implementing energy efficiency measures in residential and commercial buildings.

Every state offers some kind of energy-efficient available, and the state of Georgia is no exception. Georgia residents can receive up to $1,200 for using power-saving technologies in their homes. Residents are limited to only one rebate for each customer, per category as a part of the program requirements. Homeowners are eligible to get rebates for Energy Star appliances, such as refrigerators, dishwashers and boilers to help cut residential energy expenditures.

Georgia’s State Rebate Program has a sizable budget to provide its residential customers with incentives for improved energy efficient equipment that replaces older systems. Green appliances not only help homeowners to save money for their families, but have the wider benefit of promoting the environment. The residential rebate offer also includes solar water heat, which is a renewable green energy product.

The Energy Star appliance amounts range from $25 to $199 for more costly residential power equipment. This program began in February of this year and will last as long as the state funding lasts, so interested applicants should check on the funding status before buying energy appliances. Residents must first buy Energy Star equipment (online purchases not eligible), apply for the rebate on the web or by phone and send in additional authenticating information within 30 days of submitting the application.  More information is available for Georgia’s Residential Energy Rebate Program on the web at:  www.GeogiaRebate.com.
