Commercial rebate programs take their customers by the hand and help them navigate through the process of switching to energy-efficiencies. New and existing businesses all over the country are being coaxed to switch from older, less-energy efficient lighting to fluorescent high bay equipment. Installing equipment is a costly venture, but the expense can be relieved somewhat through rebate programs that help offset the cost.
The kind gesture of giving a helping hand never seems to grow old. Commercial companies can improve their operational costs when they install new and improved energy efficiencies. Energy-efficient, fluorescent high bay lighting uses less energy and has an improved color output. Less energy consumption means more money saved for commercial and industrial businesses.
Rhode Island’s National Grid Electric Energy Efficiency Incentive Programs give commercial customers plenty of reasons to switch the energy-saving measures. Industries such as schools, local government and commercial businesses can receive generous rewards for small, medium and large commercial customers. The program focuses on two basic types of buildings: new construction and existing facilities.
The Design 2000 Plus Program offers commercial customers not only technical assistance and energy tips, but financial incentives for schools and new construction projects to include energy-efficient equipment in their building efforts. Commercial customers can get up to 75% of the incremental costs back for installing energy equipment, such as fluorescent high bay lighting.
The Energy Initiative Program is geared toward improving existing equipment. Commercial customers can receive up to 40-50% of the total project cost. In addition,
small businesses can get an extra boost with an incentive for up to 80% of their equipment installation cost. The amounts of each technology vary according to their type and energy efficiency. Rhode Island commercial customers who are interested in making the switch can find out how to get started at: www.thinksmartthinkgreen.com.
