The federal government is distributing government rebates for green energy efforts all over the country. This nationwide strategy is one way the federal government is making good on its strong commitment to renewables and efficiencies. Green energy is not only popular, but a vital resource to help sustain our environment. Green incentives save money on energy-saving equipment and give you a good return on your financial investment.
The state of Kentucky offers commercial government rebates to boost the state’s green energy initiative for industries and businesses. Duke Energy’s Smart Energy Incentive Program is designed to encourage commercial and industrial industries to use energy efficient equipment. They offer a generous rebate to small commercial institutions to help them save operating costs and support the environmental cause. The special rate is only available for Duke Energy commercial and industrial retail electric customers that are not on rate TT (Time-of-Day Rate for Service at Transmission Voltage).
Clothes washers/dryers, lighting, heat pumps, air conditioners, windows and motors are all eligible for government rebates. The maximum rebate is capped at $50,000 per fiscal year per facility for all qualified technologies, such as lighting equipment, manufacturing process equipment, motors and the like. Schools are also included in this rebate offer, but there is a different application process and a limit of $100,000 per fiscal year. The school application and additional information is available at www.duke-energy.com.
The fiscal year extends from July 1 to June 30 for Duke Energy’s Smart Saver Incentive program. The application is available on the website, and must be completed and turned in within 90 days after the equipment has been installed and is operational. Authorized vendors must approve the equipment and contractors or customers must receive site verification once the equipment has been installed.
These rebates are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so interested customers should go through the application process in a timely manner. Government rebates for green energy offer commercial, industrial and education customers green “thank you” for their investment in the environmental cause. Duke Energy can provide Kentucky commercial residents financial and energy savings that are too good to be missed.
