High Bay Fixtures Help Businesses Improve Lighting In Their Facilities

Many commercial and industrial businesses today are looking for ways to cut costs while maintaining a safe, healthy work environment. Expensive equipment, such as lighting equipment, consumes a great deal of energy each day, yet is essential for the company to function. After all, commercial and residential lighting equipment uses up seven percent of our nation’s energy. With this in mind, it’s no wonder that commercial and industrial businesses all over the country are switching to more energy-efficient high bay fixtures.

High bay fixtures are thought to be the best of their kind often used to replace HID lighting systems. The advantage of these upgraded fixtures is that they use less energy, have better color output, instant start functions and can be used with a motion sensor. All of these energy-efficient advantages can help commercial companies to reduce their energy consumption and, therefore, improve their bottom line.

Iowa’s MidAmerican Energy has a Commercial Energy/Advantage Rebate Program that encourages their commercial businesses to switch to energy efficient technologies. The Lighting Equipment Program gives companies incentives to install more efficient lighting equipment in the state’s commercial facilities. Commercial companies can get a rebate between $3-$50 per unit for fixtures for upgrading their lighting equipment. Rebates are for several lighting measures, including Fluorescent T-8 and T-5 high bay fixtures.

In order to receive the incentive, interested businesses must buy the energy they are receiving the rebate for directly from MidAmerican Energy Company. They can find a complete brochure about the lighting program that spells out all of the equipment that qualifies for a rebate. In addition, companies can apply for an incentive whether they have are planning to purchase equipment or have already done so. For more information about this program and how businesses can receive these incentives, go to: www.midamericanenergy.com.
