High bay lighting has proven results of reduced energy consumption for commercial facilities. This type of energy efficient lighting is mostly seen in buildings, such as gymnasiums and schools. These commercial structures require highly efficient lighting to render quality output that is long lasting. Lighting efficiency measures help non-residential consumers to get the most of out their lighting fixtures while maintaining efficient color and light rendering.
The state of Michigan offers a number of rebates programs across the state, many of which are a part of the Efficiency United Energy network. Edison Sault Electric Company is a Commercial and Industrial Incentive Program that offers various rebates for commercial technologies, such as lighting, lighting controls and light sensors. The rebate amounts are determined by the size and type of the lighting equipment.
Energy rebates are offered to commercial and industrial customers to encourage them to reduce their energy output with specially designed equipment. Energy saving lighting equipment can help to defray the sizable cost of lighting equipment in commercial buildings. These reductions in power also have a direct result on cutting operating costs as well.
Special lighting equipment, such as high bay lighting, can qualify for a maximum of $10,000 for equipment that is bought and installed in the project facility. The commercial equipment can only be placed in the building and eligible for cash back after customers get a notice that their project has been deemed approved for the energy efficiency rebate program. In addition, lighting measures have to be used at least 1800 hours annually in order to qualify for rebates.
In addition to the prescriptive rebate offer, there is a custom incentive as well that is based on kw/kWh reductions. Custom projects must be finished within 120 days after a project is approved and the application is turned in. The Edison Sault Commercial Rebate offer is good until December 31, 2010.
