Government rebate programs help businesses to adopt green building measures, such as high bay fixtures.
Businesses are switching to more energy efficient measures to replace existing lighting equipment. These cost-saving measures help companies to save their money and reduce energy costs. Many businesses are seeing the need to replace older technologies with new ones in order to make the best use of their money.
Missouri commercial and industrial companies are among the many states who offer energy rebates for going green. The City Utilities of Springfield offers commercial and industrial businesses cash incentives for upgrading to energy efficient equipment. These rebates are offered for many types of equipment, including lighting technologies. In addition, the rebates are for established businesses that use more than 2,000 hours per day.
The City Utilities Rebate Program offers up to $200 per kW reduction to commercial customers who switch to high bay lighting. The rebate amount is based on the specific lighting fixture and how much energy is reduced. Companies may choose to have a free lighting fixture audit to help them to decide which commercial lighting fixtures are suitable for their company.
The maximum incentive under City Utility’s Commercial Energy Program is $5,000 for all types of commercial lighting. When commercial and industrial customers apply for the program and are approved, they must then install the equipment in their facilities in 90 days and provide all of the information requested in the application guidelines. All projects that are approved along with all of the necessary information must be given in by August 31 of each program year.
