Montana Businesses are Going Green With Energy Efficient Lighting

Many large commercial buildings are going green by installing energy efficient equipment in their buildings. There are many types of efficiency technologies, including lighting, lighting controls, heat pumps and air conditioning. This commercial and industrial equipment is specially designed to conserve less energy and reduce operating costs for businesses.

Green energy does not only save energy in business facilities, but also promotes a healthy work environment for employees. Energy efficient technologies are becoming popular choices for businesses that want to be environmentally friendly and conserve operating costs. Energy rebates are offered to companies to give them the resources needed to upgrade existing equipment or install new measures in their facilities.

Montana Flathead Electric Cooperative offers the Commercial Lighting Rebate Program works with the Bonneville Power Administration to provide retrofit and new construction commercial lighting retrofit rebates. Lighting technology in commercial buildings amounts to sizable energy costs and energy consumption. Going green in business facilities helps companies to maximize their resources by using energy efficient technologies.

When companies upgrade their equipment to energy efficient technologies, they are offered energy rebates for doing so. Cash incentives help businesses to recoup some of their financial investment in energy efficiencies. The Montana-based Lighting Rebate Program is available to the commercial sector for switching to energy saving lighting measures.

Companies can get from $3 to $200 per unit for in rebates depending on what kind of lighting equipment is being installed and for which type of project—retrofit or new construction. The retrofit program requires that there must be an overall wattage reduction of at least 25%. The maximum rebate amount a business can receive is 70% of the actual project cost.
