Energy rebate programs encourage green energy usage in large business facilities by giving businesses cash back for lowering their energy bills. High bay lighting in large facilities, such as schools and large office buildings, can have a significant impact on energy efficient efforts.
Good quality lighting equipment in commercial buildings uses up at least 20% of the electric energy bill. Businesses can use their money wisely by investing in lighting measures that run well and cost less. Fluorescent high bay lighting measures can reduce energy costs by at least 25% with improved color rendering and energy output.
Oncor Electric Delivery Large Commercial and Industrial Rebate Program offer local Texas utility customers incentives for switching to energy-efficient measures. Commercial businesses can upgrade to such lighting measures as high bay lighting to save money on electric energy consumption. Applicable sectors, such as commercial, industrial schools and government facilities can receive Oncor rebates for a certain amount of energy saved in large commercial buildings.
Businesses that install lighting energy efficiencies can receive $510 per kW or 65% of the project cost for using high efficiency lighting measures. Texas’ Oncor Electric Rebate Program requires customers to reduce their peak demand by at least 20 kW during the summer peak period, which runs from 1-7 p.m. on weekdays from June to September. Oncor offers incentives to its local energy customers who upgrade to energy efficiencies in business and government, but also worship and non-profit organizations. These projects must be approved prior to beginning work on installing business energy efficiency equipment. Energy rebates are paid for kW saved and can be verified through Oncor’s measurement and verification process.
